The Dining Room

A pair of leaded glass french doors on the west wall of the South hall open up to the Dining Room.  Oak wood paneling and trim surround the dining room, which pairs nicely with a custom built in, quarter sawn white oak buffet. The buffet is surrounded by depression era Pewabic tile made in Detroit. The same tile serves as the baseboard for the dining room.  The dining table, chairs built in buffet, desk and hutch are all custom designs specifically for the home, are made of quarter sawn white oak , and are lockable with the original skeleton keys.  The table is wired for telephones and radio speakers at each end and there are 4 maid buzzers underneath the table top, one on each end and one on each side. The table plugs into the floor outlet to connect to the system. The dining room also displays the original hand-painted walls depicting landscape scenery by then local artist, Miss Florence Stader.
